So how does it all work?
Booking
Head to my Booking Page to submit an inquiry. I'll get back to you from there to plan our session! Once your contract is signed and your deposit is paid, your booking is confirmed.
Before the shoot
Use your booking confirmation link to add our session to your calendar. I'll be in touch to finalize any details. I will send you directions and keep an eye on the weather for our shoot date. Make sure you have directions saved/downloaded if necessary.
payment
I take a 50% deposit via Venmo at the time of booking to secure your date. This deposit is non-refundable. The other 50% of the session fee, and any additional location/travel fee, is due at the time of the shoot. Please be prepared to pay via cash (preferred) or Venmo before leaving our shoot.
Photo galleries will not be delivered prior to full payment.
What if i need to reschedule?
You may reschedule 24+ hours before the scheduled session. No-shows on the day of cannot be rescheduled without a new deposit.
If rainy weather will prevent our shoot, I will work with you to reschedule without a new deposit. August-September are the best months for clear skies in Humboldt—if you have your heart set on scheduling around sunshine, let me know when booking!
Location Guide
When booking, I offer a curated Location Guide with a list of locations I love and know will provide a great environment for our shoot.
I am happy to work with you on a custom location for a fee, which covers necessary scouting before our shoot. Custom locations are included with my Adventure Package, though you're still welcome to use my Location Guide for inspiration.
Location fees
There may be a location fee to cover my travel or site use fees. I will work with you to ensure nothing is a suprise. Location fees are due at the shoot.
Can I bring someone to our session?
Need a friend, partner, or parent to cheer you on? I totally get it. Just let me know so I can expect them at our shoot. For solo sessions, one person is welcome to join us. This should be someone who puts you at ease and brings out your best smile.
Or, count on me to guide you through! Many people find it easier to relax into the experience without observers.
Leave no trace
To take good care of the natural spaces we visit during your portrait session, I ask that my clients and their guests at the shoot be mindful to leave the location better than we found it and to respect other visitors during our session. Please communicate in advance about any special props or other elements you would like to incorporate.
after the shoot
One of my favorite parts of this process is revisiting each photo we took together and taking the time to polish the best ones so they reflect how the moment felt. My editing style is thorough yet natural because I want you to be able to enjoy your portraits for many years to come.
I will choose the best photos from our shoot to edit and deliver to you. My turnaround time is generally 4-6 weeks, or 8 weeks for weddings and events. If you need your gallery delivered more quickly, a rush edit fee may apply.
I deliver all photos digitally in an online gallery, sent to you via email. From there, you get to enjoy and download your gallery before its expiry date. At that point, it's on you to keep track of your photos—I recommend keeping multiple backups in separate locations such as on an external drive.
You can also order prints or other custom projects from me before your gallery expires. Prints and photo books are great ways to enjoy and preserve meaningful portraits beyond the tiny phone screens! :)
Printing Your Portraits
I offer archival-quality professional printing as an additional service. If you prefer to print photos yourself, I recommend using a professional printing service. Be aware that color corrections and cropping will greatly alter the appearance of your photos, and the colors and quality of prints from other providers may not reflect what I delivered in your gallery. Printing with me ensures you get the highest quality products with the best results.
fall season senior portraits
I recommend scheduling early to ensure we can meet your yearbook photo deadline (usually in mid-December). Don't be shy about summer or early fall portraits when the weather is great!
